This is an experiential program of outdoor discovery in which children learn about the animals and plants at the Farm through observation and supported questioning, experiment with Ecoarts and bushcraft skills, and put permaculture into practice. The program is for children aged 6 to 12 years of age. Parents can chose to drop children or stay with the group. The hours are from 9.30am to 12.30pm each day (drop off/arrive from 9.15am and pick up until 12.45pm). On the final day there will be an afternoon gathering with parents and families from 12.15pm – 1.15pm. The parents handbook and enrolment form can be found at:
Each program differs according to the seasons and includes a diversity of activities. Some of the activities are:* Gardening – planting, harvesting, composting, bush tucker and learning about seasonal changes; * Bushcraft – building shelters, making string, making fires; * Ecoarts – creativity using natural materials; * Earth connection – ‘magic spots’, mapping, wandering and other activities to support understanding of the web of life and the elements that all life is made of. The term 4 program has an animal theme.
