Karalee Kindergarten

Karalee Kindergarten & Early Years Learning is committed to supporting our children’s learning and understanding of the amazing environment that surrounds our centre and community. Our expansive, natural outdoor environment with our Eco Farm; chickens, natural stingless bees, vegetable gardens, composting and worm farm is supplemented by our fruit trees, mud kitchen, loose parts play area, bike tracks and beautiful grassed lawns. To compliment this space we also created on the land just behind our centre our Bush Kinder. This area, accessed through our playground allows our children to engage further in their nature play. Children and educators access our Bush Kinder weekly to water their bush tucker garden, partake in sensory walks, discovery sessions, art experiences, yarning circle experiences and fire pit discussions.

Our Bush Kinder is an extension to our play based curriculum and allows our children to partake in natural, risky play. Climbing trees, investigating the natural environment around them, creating with natural resources, hypothesising, experiencing cause and effect and seeing how nature is cared for is part of our daily curriculum and supplemented through our amazing bush kinder space. The space has been created in conjunction with centre family contributions, staff collaboration and a keen desire to ensure that all children can experience the benefits of a natural environment as part of their learning space.
