Country Kids Childcare … Naturally fun!

Country Kids Childcare is an award-winning Family Daycare service that has been operating in the Cassowary Coast Region for the past nine years.

Georgina, director of Country Kids Childcare, has been awarded the National Educator of the Year award in 2013 through her passion for creating a safe and creative space for the kids. She uses her centre and philosophy as a platform for connecting with her community; regularly collaborating and forming partnerships, building secure and respectful relationships and providing quality outcomes for children through participation, fundraising and community events.

Georgina’s vision is to make Qualified Forest School Learning in Early Childhood Education available to families in the community. Georgina hopes to inspire families and educators to follow Nature Play QLD and to get outside and enjoy the region’s natural spaces on offer. Country Kids Childcare prides itself on inspiring and educating children in making a difference. If the next generation can learn to appreciate the beauty and purpose of nature, children will become agents of change in their own environment.

Georgina and her team are working on a new program – Forest School Garden Program. It will incorporate nature play/forest school, calming/meditation/forest bathing combined with art therapy as a tool, combatting and strengthening mental health and improve their general wellbeing. She wants to inspire families to use backyards, neighbourhoods and nature to improve feelings of happiness and free up creativity to create a healthier future.
