Choices Family Day Care

Choices Family Day Care are an advocate for natural play and encourage their educators to create play spaces that foster an appreciation of the natural environment, develop environmental awareness, and provide an ongoing environmental education. They believe outdoor environments should offer opportunities for learning through play, access to materials that stimulate investigation and reflection, as well as be enriched by natural resources and opportunities for children to connect with nature.

Play spaces are created in natural environments which include plants, trees, edible gardens, sand, rocks, mud, water and other elements from nature. These spaces invite open ended interactions, spontaneity, risk taking, exploration, discovery and connection with nature. They foster an appreciation of the natural environment, develop environmental awareness and provide a platform for ongoing environmental education.
