We would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians, the Turrbal and Yuggera People whose shared ancestral lands we have built our Carina Heights Child Care and Development community on; where we work and play each day.

As a boutique early education and care service, we are committed to exceeding the national benchmark set out within the national quality standards for our industry. Our aim is to provide a high-quality, professional, personalised, friendly, and welcoming service in a habitat, designed specifically to enhance children’s learning and development and their immersion in the natural world. Our service reflects community values and supports equitable partnerships, ensuring the centre is managed effectively through collaboration and consultation. Our educators are passionate, dedicated and caring individuals that have a genuine love of caring for children and embrace a holistic approach to pedagogy.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, histories and perspectives are meaningfully embedded throughout service operation from the office and administration through to the creation, design and implementation of learning programs and the provision of learning environments.

At CHCCD we value the real, experiential and authentic learning opportunities that are provided through nature-based learning and as such incorporate both “Nature Play” and “Bush Kindy” in our Educational Programs.

Nature play is the term we use to describe the outdoor learning program we provide within our service that encourages the children to play and learn from and within their natural environment in an authentic and unstructured way. Our oversized and natural outdoor environments, with real trees, plants, bush tucker, rocks, dirt, mud, sticks, leaves and wildlife provide the perfect space for daily immersion in the natural world.

While our Bush Kindy Program offers the children the opportunity to venture past our grounds and explore the natural wonders on offer in our community. All children throughout the service enjoy the opportunity to regularly engage in our Bush Kindy Program, with our youngest children hitching a ride in one of our 6-seater prams. Bush Kindy Days are our Favourite Days!
